Task 1 Part 2 - My role Within the Label

A&R stands for Artist and Repetoire.  The roles of a A&R rep includes scouting for talent, as well as the artistic and commercial improvement of the recording artist. The role also is the main point of contact between the artist and the label. The 3 major responsibilities of an A&R rep are: Finding Talent Assisting with Marketing & Promotion Working with everyone within the label as well as the Artist An A&R rep can sign new and already popular artists and groups and will work closely with them to help them improve, discuss how they want to be marketed . They will also help the artist with their image and sound and will get them in contact with the right producers. I am going to keep a direct point of contact between the label and the artist.
